Hari Merdeka is the Malaysian celebration of freedom from British colonial rule in 1957
It is celebrated on August 31st each year.
The number and size of flags flown was impressive.
True, I was at Dataran Merdeka. However even in Singapore, there were no giant flags around Marina Bay where the National Day was celebrated.
