Singapore to Kuala Lumpur by Bus: $12

The $12 ride to Kuala Lumpur has since been cancelled.

Lion Star Bus at Pudu Raya bus terminal in Kuala Lumpur.

There have been many hits on my page looking for the bus from Singapore to Malaysia. I had previously blogged about my $36, 8 hour trip to Teluk Intan.

LionStar Express

  • Purchase at TransStar booth
  • SGD 12
  • Leaves daily at 1530h from Golden Mile Complex
  • Stops at Pudu Raya and TBS

More recently, I discovered the Lion Star express bus to Pudu Raya Bus Terminal, via Terminal Bersepadu Selatan, in Kuala Lumpur. This, bus, which leaves 1530h daily from the Golden Mile Complex in Singapore, is a non-stop service and costs only $12.

Since it stops at Pudu Raya, it is a perfect walking distance to some affordable accommodation in China town.

To find the place that sells tickets, you walk along the front of the building (map shown below) until you reach the end of the row of stores and see the money exchanger. On your right, there will be a poster for that bus.

Remember, there is no stopping, so bring some food, some drink and moderate yourself because there is no washroom break either!

A popular luxurious alternative is AeroLine. Expensive but people I know love the service.
