The Terminal: A Real Life Remake

Tom Hanks from the movie The Terminal.

In a nod to the movie The Terminal starring Tom Hanks, 32 year old Raejali Buntut managed to evade airport security for 18 days as he traversed the various VIP lounges making Changi International Airport his home.

From August 21st, Malaysian Buntut managed to forge boarding passes 31 times to gain access to various airport lounges across all three of the Singapore airport’s terminals after missing his 7am flight.

Instead of becoming his girlfriend in a movie like ending, she promptly reported him to the police.

How, and why, he managed to spend over two weeks in the airport unchecked is unknown at this moment though Singapore is known for being one of the safest countries in the world.

He pulled off this feat by downloading Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific boarding passes on the Internet and altering them with current information.

Unfortunately his great airport adventure came to a close on, September 7, just 12 days shy of his 33rd birthday. An attendant at Dnata Lounge recognized him as a too frequent customer. Instead of becoming his girlfriend in a movie like ending, she promptly reported him to the police.

His two week jail sentence will not be as comfortable as his airport stay but maybe he’ll have a fan in Tom Hanks.
